Celebrating Malachi's 1/2 year old birthday with Robin

Auntie Robin was able to visit us this weekend. She brought Malachi some new shoes for this birthday and made him cake and cupcakes...don't worry we ate Malachi's share!

Thanks Robin for making his half birthday an actual celebration! =)

6 MONTHS!

I can't believe Malachi is 6 months already...It's just crazy!
I wasn't too happy with the lighting for these and he wasn't as smiley as he normally is, but they're still adorable:

And my All-Time Favorite...that I just happened to capture:

Next up: Auntie Robin visited and make a 1/2 year birthday cake!

Throwback Thursday (tbt)

Gotta love old pictures of us sisters!
Funny/random comment about this picture....I remember being upset when we were about to take this picture because I couldn't get the button on my jeans done. I was so bothered about it but you can't even see my jeans in the picture!

Can't Resist a Sleeping Baby

Just the other day I was thinking to myself I wish I had photoshop....I am such a sucker for photoshopped pictures. Like high contrast, blurred backgrounds/foregrounds, and so on. However, I spent a little time in our hotel in Tacoma messing around with our camera and was able to capture the look that I love so much, without any manipulation on the computer! (I'm learning so much about the capabilities of this camera).
I guess I don't NEED photoshop...for now...we'll revisit the idea later =).
Malachi is adorable!

Mother's Day in Seattle

I was blessed with a wonderful Mother's day weekend. I'm not sure how my boys are going to top this one! Tacoma is only 30 minutes from Seattle so we spent Saturday and Sunday roaming around the big city.

It was recommended by a friend in my Christian Mom's group to go to Green Lake. There is a 3 mile walking trail that goes around the lake so we started our day with that.

We then parked our van at our Hotel and walked to the Space Needle, piers, and Pike Place Market.

These shots were taken from our hotel room (we stayed at the Warwick).

We had fallen asleep before getting the tripod out to take a picture of the Space Needle all lit up, so this is my attempt after feeding Malachi in the middle of the night. It would have been much better with a tripod and the glass door open but I was anxious to go back to sleep. Still beautiful though.

The Schaal's are at it again!

I got a phone call from Andrew yesterday saying that Kiewit wants him in Tacoma for the next four weeks, starting this morning!
SO...we've headed to Tacoma WA.
Great thing is I believe we may spend Mothers day in Seattle...a city I have never been to but have wanted to visit for quite some time!

Update: so Andrew believes he will not have to stay in Tacoma for the 4 weeks straight but will go back and forth several times to help with some estimating in the office there. Malachi and I joined him today and we'll head to Seattle Saturday morning....I'm quite excited!

Back before we knew we were supposed to spend the rest of our lives as man and wife.

Our Little Football Player

Happy May Day everyone! I remember giving our neighbor flowers when I was a little girl every first of May. Then when I graduated from high school, many years after she moved away, she sent me a card and wrote how she so enjoyed receiving those flowers. I had no idea how much it meant to her.

Well I don't have flowers for you but just a couple of cute pics of Malachi posing in his football gear. He's quite natural at this football stuff! haha...The day Malachi was born Andrew said he was going to be a tight end. But these pictures seem to reveal maybe he'll be a quarterback?

Yes these pictures were taken with our Canon, I'm really trying to finally learn about and use the camera these days. Let's see if I can keep it up.
